Young Boys defender Frederik Sorensen has told The Scottish Sun that he has spoken to Midtjylland players about facing Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers.

Rangers hammered Midtjylland 7-3 in a Europa League qualifying round back in August.

Steven Gerrard’s side will take on Young Boys away from home in Europa League Group G on Thursday evening.

Ahead of the game, Sorensen has said that he has spoken to players at Midtjylland about Rangers.

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Gerrard has given his take on the Gers not having their usual fan-base for the match.

Sorensen told The Scottish Sun: “I saw the game against Midtjylland in Denmark and Rangers were very good. I have friends who play for Midtjylland and I talked with them.

“They told me Rangers had a good mentality, a classic British team who come with a great attitude and with a lot of physicality. We know we have to play the same way if we want to get a result.”

Gerrard told The Scottish Sun: “We always want our fans with us. They have been absolutely magnificent since the very first day I walked in. The players respect and appreciate that.

“It would have been nice if they were here and it’s a shame they’re not. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again.”

Winning against Young Boys

Rangers have a very good team, and the Gers have made a good start to the season.

Gerrard’s team will be confident of picking up at least a point against Young Boys this evening, and one should not be surprised if they do end up bagging all three points from their second Europa League game.

Rangers won 1-0 against Feyenoord at Ibrox in Europa League Group G last month.
