The Portuguese defender scored his first Sheffield Wednesday goal on Sunday and hopes it won’t be his last.

Frederico Venancio has confessed his love for Sheffield Wednesday after his loan spell ended on Sunday.
Defender Venancio made 25 Owls appearances and scored his only goal for the club in the last of those – a 5-1 win against Norwich City – which preceded chants of ‘sign him up’ from the home crowd.
Wednesday announced last week that the 25-year-old will now return to his parent club, Vitoria de Setubal, but still hope to finalise a permanent transfer, according to their manager, Jos Luhukay.

And Venancio is desperate to be back at Hillsborough next season.
Posting on Instagram on Sunday evening, the Portuguese wrote: “I must confess: Dear Sheffield Wednesday FC I did fall in love with you! I really love the fans, the club, the city!
“For the many of you who ask about my future I just want to say that I really want to stay here – but It’s not just up to me. Thank you for all your support and I hope to see you next season”.
Wednesday’s chances look to have been boosted by Vitoria’s latest result – a 2-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Estoril Praia – which leaves them second from bottom of the Portuguese top flight ahead of next weekend’s season finale at home to 10th-place Tondela.
