The Chronicle are reporting that Newcastle United have told Arsenal target Freddie Woodman to report for pre-season duty.
What’s the story?
Arsenal reportedly want to sign an English goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners plan to sell midfielder Joe Willock and use the funds to bolster the goalkeeping department.
Woodman is reportedly valued at £10 million by Newcastle.
Arsenal have had Woodman on their radar for two years now.
The Magpies have told the 24-year-old to report for Newcastle duty and will be part of pre-season training.
The Chronicle reported last month that Arsenal want to sign the 24-year-old this summer.
Good signing for Arsenal?
Woodman spent the past two seasons on loan at Swansea City in the Championship.
The 24-year-old was a regular for the Welsh club and helped them reach the Championship playoffs.
Martin Dubravka is the number one goalkeeper at Newcastle at the moment.

That is not going to change anytime soon.
Woodman’s reported value of £10 million is certainly within Arsenal’s reach.
For that price, the goalkeeper would not be a risk and could actually prove to be a bargain in the long run.
The question is whether Woodman would be happy to move to Arsenal, knowing that he might have to fight for his place in the starting lineup.
