Dean Smith’s Aston Villa have won 10 games on the bounce in the Championship.

Fred Guilbert has congratulated Aston Villa on Instagram for securing their playoff spot and winning 10 Championship games in a row on Monday.
The 24-year-old signed for Dean Smith’s side in January from Ligue 1 side Caen, but the club opted to loan him back to the relegation-threatened French outfit [Birmingham Mail].
Watching on from his home country, he sent this message to his new supporters after Villa beat Millwall 1-0 on Easter Monday to all but secure a top-six finish.
Here is a Villa fan account posting Guilbert’s message:
At the end of February, Villa looked down and out in the promotion race because they were seven points behind the top-six and 15 points behind West Brom, who had just beaten them.
But roll forward 10 games and Smith’s side have secured their play-off place with two games remaining and are two points behind the Baggies.

It is looking highly likely that both teams will now meet in the semi-finals in what is set to be an epic Midlands showdown. As things stand, the first leg will be played at Villa Park, with the reverse leg taking place at the Hawthorns.
But with two games of the season still remaining, if Villa better Albion’s results then they would leapfrog them and the first leg would take place at the Hawthorns.
Smith’s side travel to Yorkshire to take on Leeds United on Sunday before they finish off the campaign with a home clash against Champions-elect Norwich City.
