Preston could be the fourth Sheffield Wednesday youngster to make his Owls debut under Jos Luhukay.
Another player from Sheffield Wednesday’s Under-23s has been recognised by first team manager Jos Luhukay.
Since arriving at Hillsborough in January, Luhukay has already handed debuts to Jordan Thorniley, Sean Clare and Frederik Nielsen, while Cameron Dawson, Jack Stobbs and Connor O’Grady have built on their early experience under the Dutchman.
In addition, Luhukay named Connor Kirby on the bench at Barnsley and recently brought George Hirst back to the first team fold after months in exile.
Saturday’s trip to Bristol City, however, could be Fraser Preston’s turn in the limelight, with the winger appearing to have travelled with the seniors on Friday.
Wednesday assistant Lee Bullen posted a video of Preston performing his initiation song – a tradition for those involved for the first time away from home – at the team hotel.
And while there is every chance that Preston – who has been capped by Scotland’s Under-19s – is involved simply to make up numbers, do not be surprised to see the youngster’s name in Luhukay’s 18.
