Everton are famous for bringing young players through the ranks and we may soon be able to add another name to that list in the form of Fraser Hornby.

The 17-year-old midfielder had a match to remember at the weekend when he scored four goals in a 5-2 victory for Everton’s under-18s against Stoke City.

The Toffees were 2-0 down when Hornby decided to steal the headlines, going one better than a hat-trick before Shayne Lavery finished things off for the young side.

Hornby has a very long way to go before he is challenging for a first-team place at Goodison Park, but his latest performance will not have gone unnoticed.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman will be keen to keep a very close eye on the next generation of talent at the club and a four-goal haul is always impressive, regardless of the level or the opponent.

For now Hornby will be looking to maintain that kind of form for the rest of the campaign, and from there, anything is possible.
