Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster has told the Daily Record that he thinks Ryan Christie has been ‘absolutely brilliant’ so far this season.

The Bhoys may have crashed out of the Champions League qualifiers at the hands of CFR Cluj, but Neil Lennon has seen playmaker Christie enjoy a remarkable start to the season.

Christie has smashed nine goals and five assists in 15 games in all competitions, arguably emerging as Celtic’s best player so far this season.

The 24-year-old was close to leaving Celtic in 2018 after a loan spell at Aberdeen, but knuckled down, improved his physique and is now almost undroppable.

Not only is Christie starring for Celtic, but he’s also impressed for Scotland, and Lennon will be building his Celtic team around the former Inverness man.

Signed for £500,000 in 2015 (Daily Record), Christie is proving to be a real bargain, and he’s made a massive impression on new signing Forster.

Forster has admitted that he thinks Christie has been ‘absolutely brilliant’ this season, and noticed how positive and talented he is from the first time he saw him last month, singling him out for praise.

“Ryan Christie has been absolutely brilliant,” said Forster. “Even from that very first game I watched, he was so positive. Everything he does, he looks to get turned and play up the pitch,” he added.
