Scott Brown is one of Celtic’s most decorated players of all time.
Celtic new boy Fraser Forster has told The Scottish Sun that he reckons some people still don’t appreciate Scott Brown’s quality.
Forster re-signed for the Hoops on a season-long loan from Southampton last week.
The towering English goalkeeper will be familiar with a number of players at Celtic and Brown, the captain, is one of them.
Brown, a £4.4 million signing from Hibernian in 2007 [The Guardian], has been hugely successful in Glasgow and led the Bhoys to a historic third successive domestic treble in May.
At 34, he shows no sign of slowing down just yet, and Forster reckons that he can still be underrated by some people, despite his list of accolades.
He told The Scottish Sun: “He was when I was here before and still is now, in terms of what he brings to the changing room and what he brings to the pitch.
“Sometimes he doesn’t get the credit he deserves and people don’t realise how good he is until he’s not there on the pitch. He’s another one who seems to get better with age and he’s a top player. As a captain, he’d be among the best I’ve ever had.”
Brown has been given a rough time of it lately, following Celtic’s exit from Champions League qualifying, but he’s still a massive player and he can prove as much on Sunday when Neil Lennon’s side visit Rangers.
A big performance at Ibrox would remind his critics of the pitfalls involved in writing off the legendary skipper and few would back against him having a brilliant afternoon.
