Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Scott Arfield to Ibrox.

Arfield has joined Rangers in the summer transfer window as a free agent following his departure from Burnley in the Premier League in England at the end of last season.
The 29-year-old Canada international has arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation, and Gers fans will expect the midfielder to establish himself in Gerrard’s first team straightaway.

Aird, now on the books of Dundee United, has spoken highly of Arfield, and has backed his Canada international teammate to be a success at Rangers, although he has stated that there will be massive expectations of him.
The 23-year-old, who can operate as a winger or a wing-back, started his professional club football career at Rangers and left the Ibrox club in 2017.

Aird told The Scottish Sun about Arfield: “I think he will do brilliantly. I think Rangers were missing someone like him last season, a consistent box-to-box midfielder who will get you goals as well.
“He’s proven he can do that in the Premier League in England. There will be massive expectations, but hopefully Steven Gerrard can get the best out of him.”

Busy summer for Rangers
Rangers have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far and have made a number of signings.
Among the players the Gers have recruited so far this summer are Allan McGregor, Nikola Katic and Jon Flanagan.
