Rangers are unlikely to be busy in this month’s transfer window, but they do look to be moving in for one target.

The Gers are 21 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, meaning Steven Gerrard may not feel the need to splash the cash.

Still, with Brandon Barker a bit-part player and Jordan Jones’ future unclear, another winger could be on Gerrard’s radar this month.

The main player being linked with a move to Ibrox is Aberdeen ace Scott Wright, with Sky Sports reporting that a pre-contract agreement could materialise.

Wright is out of contract this summer, though The Scottish Sun claim that Aberdeen expect Rangers to pay cash to sign him this month.

Wright, 23, is a quick and tricky wide man who could offer important depth, whilst also being a homegrown player for European action.

A deal doesn’t seem imminent, but Wright’s former Aberdeen teammate Frank Ross has told the Evening Express that he thinks Wright is similar to Rangers star Ryan Kent.

Ross believes that people don’t realise how good Wright is, and he has the explosiveness to become a real star at Ibrox if he does make his move.

“He’s such a good player,” said Ross. “I don’t think a lot of people have seen how good he is. On his day, he can just beat people and score.”

“He reminds me of Ryan Kent, with the explosiveness he has. He can go in to Rangers and be one of their better players,” he added.
