West Ham United have been linked with a summer move for the Aston Villa ace.
West Ham legend Frank McAvennie suggested that Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish would be a fantastic signing for his former club, when speaking during a guest appearance on Ian Stone’s Comedy Breakfast on Love Sport Radio yesterday.
The 23-year-old is a transfer target for the Hammers and Tottenham, according to the Mirror, and it will cost somewhere in the region of £45 million to prise him away from Villa Park, according to a report from the Times.
West Ham are in desperate need of more youth and attacking creativity in the middle of the park, and Grealish could be just the ticket for the east London outfit.
The Villa ace has been in excellent form for Dean Smith’s side this season, racking up four goals and four assists in 24 Championship outings, and he has undoubtedly been one of the west Midlands outfit’s best players of the campaign this far.
He has real talent, and a move to the Premier League could see him reach another level entirely.
In fact, McAvennie suggested that Grealish would actually help take the Hammers to the next level, when speaking during a guest appearance on Ian Stone’s Comedy Breakfast on Love Sport Radio yesterday:
“The boy has got talent, that’s for sure. He’s got a bit about him. He’s got a bit of swagger which is not a bad thing for West Ham. They could do with someone like that to go in and take them to the next level.”
Whilst West Ham will not have things all their own way in the pursuit of Grealish, Manuel Pellegrini must do everything within his power to convince the Villa man that a move to the London stadium is the right step for his career.
And if the east London outfit are successful in bringing the Villa youngster to the club, he really would be an exceptional addition for the Hammers.
