Celtic winger James Forrest did not start for Scotland against Israel.

Frank McAvennie has criticised Scotland manager Alex McLeish’s decision to omit Celtic winger James Forrest from the starting lineup against Israel, as posted on social networking site Twitter.
Forrest scored four goals in Celtic’s 6-0 win against St. Johnstone away from home in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.
The 27-year-old winger, though, did not start for Scotland in their UEFA Nations League Group C1 match against Israel away from home on Thursday evening.
Former Celtic and Scotland international striker McAvennie has given his take on manager McLeish’s decision not to include Forrest in the starting lineup.

Forrest is a very good winger who has played over 20 times for Scotland, and it will have come as a surprise to him that he did not start against Israel.
The Celtic winger, though, did come on as a substitute midway through the second half, but he could not prevent Scotland from suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Israel.
