Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic should move for Manchester City-owned Sunderland defender Jason Denayer in the summer transfer window, suggests Frank McAvennie.

Celtic are having a great season and could end up winning the treble. The Bhoys have won the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup already this campaign, and have progressed to the final of the Scottish Cup.

The Bhoys also played in the group stage of the Champions League this season, and the Celtic Park faithful will want the same in 2017-18.

The Glasgow giants have a good squad, but it is important that they make new signings in the summer transfer window and make the team even better.

Frank McAvennie has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Celtic should make a move for Manchester City defender Jason Denayer in the summer transfer window.

Denayer is currently on loan at Sunderland, who look set to get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old played for Celtic on loan from City during the 2014-15 campaign and gave a good account of himself at Celtic Park.

Former Celtic striker McAvennie has also suggested that the Bhoys should retain the services of Patrick Roberts.

Roberts, who is 20 years of age and operates as a winger, is currently on loan at Celtic, and he is scheduled to return to his parent club City in the summer.
