Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has brought Jermain Defoe to Ibrox on loan.

Rangers have signed Defoe on loan from Premier League outfit Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
The 36-year-old former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur striker has moved to Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club on an 18-month loan deal.
Former Celtic striker McAvennie has suggested that the Englishman would have been a good signing for Brendan Rodgers’s team.
McAvennie said on Open Goal: “I honestly think Defoe is a top signing, and if Celtic had gotten him, then they would have been raving him about him because he is that good.”

Good signing for Rangers
It could take a while for Defoe to get used to Rangers manager Gerrard’s system, but there is no doubt that the Englishman is a brilliant signing for the Gers.
With Rangers giving bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic a run for their money in the Scottish Premiership this season, the signing of Defoe will make the Ibrox club’s attack even more potential.
Rangers have one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership in Alfredo Morelos, and if Defoe is partnered with the Colombia international striker on a regular basis, then it is going to be frightening for opposition defenders.
