Celtic are on the verge of making it eight Scottish Premiership titles in a row and they will be looking to make it nine next season.
Former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has claimed that Neil Lennon will be looking for players like Odsonne Edouard when the transfer window re-opens if he is still in charge of the club.
The Bhoys signed Edouard last summer from Paris Saint-Germain [BBC Sport] and McAvennie claims that the 21-year-old has been a ‘snip’ for the club.
Lennon, who replaced Brendan Rodgers in the Parkhead dugout after the turn of the year, will be hoping to win the treble-treble with the club at the end of the season.
The Scottish Premiership is in the bag for Celtic, it’s just a matter of time before they win it and McAvennie spoke about what the club could find in the transfer window in order to push on for next season.
“They might not spent £10m or £15m on a player but they will find a few gems,” said McAvennie, as quoted by Herald Scotland. “Edouard has been a snip at £8m and that’s the kind of quality Lenny – or whoever is in charge – will be looking for.”
Since his move from France, Edouard has been a real success in Scotland and he will be key to the club potentially winning nine-in-a-row next term.
Over the weekend, he helped Lennon secure the Scottish Cup by scoring from the penalty spot during his side’s 3-0 win over Aberdeen at Hampden.
Over the course of the season, the versatile attacker has played 47 games for Celtic, scoring 20 goals and supplying his teammates with eight assists [transfermarkt].
