Derby County defender Jayden Bogle is reportedly attracting interest from newly-promoted Aston Villa.

Frank Lampard previously lauded reported Aston Villa target Jayden Bogle as an ‘absolute find’ after giving him his senior debut during his time at Derby County.

Prior to his move to Chelsea, Villa beat Lampard’s Derby in the Championship play-off final – right-back Bogle had played a huge part in the Rams reaching that showpiece event as he won Derby’s Young Player of the Year award.

TeamTalk previously claimed that Aston Villa are a number of clubs keen on the 19-year-old right-back, who as mentioned above, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season.

Well, one month before the Championship play-off final against Villa, Lampard shared these comments on Bogle, which just proves the talent he is and the player he can potentially become.

“Jayden Bogle coming through has been a real blessing for the club,” said Lampard, as quoted by the Derby Telegraph. “He was an absolute find.

“When I came in pre-season and I saw him, I thought ‘wow, this kid can play’. He has come in and played like he has been playing for years, that is not always the norm.

“He’s been fearless about how he’s taken it on, he’s been consistent in his performance, he’s become very much a man in the eight or nine months I’ve been here. And there’s loads more to come. Jayden Bogle, to have a season like he’s had at 18, means that he’s going to have a really top career.”

At this moment in time, Villa don’t need Bogle’s services because they have Ahmed Elmohamady and recent purchase Fred Guilbert in their ranks.

James Bree is also still at the club, but he has struggled to prove his worth in recent seasons, as he was on loan at Ipswich for the second half of the last campaign.

Given Bree’s struggles, and Elmohamady’s age, 31, Bogle could potentially be a long-term target for Villa and a player they should perhaps keep their eye on.
