Derby County had to work hard to beat Ipswich Town last night.

Derby County manager Frank Lampard spoke to reporters after his side’s hard fought 2-0 win over Ipswich Town last night, and pleaded with the club’s fans to stick by their team, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Rams have endured a mixed start to their 2018/19 Championship campaign, winning two and losing two of their opening four games, and there have been murmurings of discontent from some sections of the Derby faithful.
There is obviously still a long way to go this season, though.
Lampard is implementing a patient style of play at Derby, with short passing build ups from defence to attack being a key feature of the former Chelsea and England star’s philosophy.
The east Midlands outfit certainly had to be patient against Ipswich Town last night, and Lampard urged the Derby fans to be patient with his team, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“We needs the fans, and I understand that they are looking for attacking football, but sometimes you have to work for openings. If we were booming it long every time, then that would be a different type of football, that’s not what we’re going for. The fans have to stick with us, and they will.”
Next up for the Rams is a home game against Preston North End on Saturday, and Lampard’s men will surely be confident in their chances of making it two successive Championship wins.
