Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur drew with Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Tottenham held Spanish and European giants Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The performance of the North London outfit against the defending European champions was very encouraging.
While former Chelsea midfielder Lampard was impressed with Tottenham, the ex-West Ham United and Manchester City star suggested that they are missing a special player.
Lampard said about Tottenham on BT Sport 2 on Tuesday evening (9:51pm, October 17, 2017) during the post-match coverage of the Champions League game between Real Madrid and Spurs: “I do worry they are still… the squad needs to be stronger.”
“I just wonder whether they are that special player still away,” added Lampard.
Tottenham have progressed well under manager Mauricio Pochettino over the past three or so seasons.
Spurs have challenged for the Premier League title for past two campaigns, and they are doing the same this time around.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are third in the league table at the moment with 17 points from eight matches, five points behind leaders Manchester City.
