Derby County are said to be interested in signing Kasey Palmer from Chelsea.

Frank Lampard reporttd for BT Sport during The Emirates FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on May 19, 2018 in London, England.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Derby County boss Frank Lampard is unsure about signing Kasey Palmer.

Derby have been strongly linked with the Chelsea youngster in recent times, but Lampard has his own doubts over the transfer.

And if Lampard does pass up the chance to sign Palmer, he could be missing a golden opportunity.

Kasey Palmer of Derby scores to make it 2-2 during the Sky Bet Championship match between Derby County and Leeds United at iPro Stadium on February 21, 2018 in Derby, England.

Palmer spent last season on loan at Derby, and he was barely ever used as a starter by Gary Rowett.

When the attacking midfielder did take to the field, though, he showed glimpses of real quality.

Palmer has already proven he can have an impact at Championship level, during his time on loan at Huddersfield Town two seasons ago.

And Palmer could seriously enhance the quality of Derby’s attack, if he was brought in by Lampard.

The bulk of Derby fans are also keen to see Palmer arrive, so Lampard could help to increase the optimism around Pride Park by bringing the youngster to the club.

The Rams are not thought to have masses of funds to spend this summer, with Lampard having to sell before he can buy.

And bringing in any better players than Palmer in the coming weeks, looks like it could be a tough challenge for Lampard.
