Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says he is unaware of Everton’s interest in Fikayo Tomori and says the player is in contention to start this weekend, Daily Mail report.
The Toffees have been linked with the speedy central defender.
According to a report from ESPN this week, Everton are in advanced talks over a season-long loan deal as they look to beat Newcastle United to his signature.

But Lampard poured cold water on those claims during his press conference.
“With Fikayo I’m not aware of [Everton interest] – he’s in contention for Brighton and that’s where we’re at. He knows, and I hope every player knows, I’m fair in how I pick a team. There are four centre-backs, two of them will be unhappy every week but they have to make that starting place their own,” Lampard explained.
Everton have had a busy week in the transfer market ahead of the season opener.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have bolstered their midfield options with Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure arriving, while James Rodriguez will give the side plenty of creativity.
Now, attentions can be turned to improving what was a leaky defence last term.
Tomori, who is rated at £43.3 million in a study by The Sun, boasts plenty of potential but so far he has struggled for regular game time with the Blues.

After a successful loan spell at Derby County, the England international has shown he is ready for top-flight football, but he often found himself behind the likes of Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the pecking order last season.
Following the arrival of Thiago Silva, Tomori could face further struggles. A loan move to Goodison Park would seemingly suit all parties involved.
