Frank Lampard predicts Tottenham Hotspur changes after Manchester City defeat

Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 4-1 by Manchester City yesterday.

Frank Lampard has told BT Sport, during their live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Manchester City, that he believes Mauricio Pochettino will ring the changes for his side’s next match.

Tottenham are due to face Burnley in their next match at Turf Moor, in a contest which will be majorly important for their top four hopes.

And Lampard believes that Pochettino will be ruthless with his team selection, after Spurs were outplayed by City yesterady.

“I think there might be a few changes in the next game,” Lampard said. “The squad isn’t vast, but I think he’ll make changes. We know he’s not scared to.”

Tottenham simply were not at the races against City yesterday, with Pep Guardiola’s side strolling to success.

City took the lead early on when Ilkay Gundogan headed home from a corner and they never looked back.

Kevin de Bruyne scored a brace and Raheem Sterling scored once, as Spurs were outclassed at the Etihad Stadium.

The likes of Kieran Trippier, Mousa Dembele, Harry Winks and Danny Rose could now all find their places in Spurs’ squad under threat, if Pochettino does make big changes next weekend.

Burnley are currently ahead of Spurs by a point in the Premier League table, and another defeat for Pochettino’s side’s next Saturday would be disastrous for their Champions League qualification hopes.
