Olivier Giroud has said on talkSPORT (8:53am, October 12, 2021) that his former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard would be a great appointment for Newcastle United.
Former Arsenal striker Giroud, now at AC Milan, worked with Lampard at Chelsea.
The 35-year-old French striker has said that Newcastle are a big club, and believes that Lampard would be a very good managerial appointment for the Magpies’ new owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Giroud said about Lampard potentially going to Newcastle: “Yeah, definitely, I talked to him a little bit last year.
“I think he is looking forward for a good challenge to come back as a manager, and I think he is a good option. Definitely.
“I believe Newcastle is a big team in the Prem, and it’s a good challenge for him to bounce back and to show his quality.”

Frank Lampard to Newcastle United?
The Sun have reported that the new Newcastle owners are considering Lampard to take over from Steve Bruce.
The former Chelsea and England international midfielder is reportedly on the shortlist.
Talks between Lampard and Amanda Staveley and co. could start as soon as this week.

The 43-year-old is a very young manager, but he has done well already in his managerial career.
Lampard took Derby County to the Championship playoff final and then guided Chelsea to the Premier League top four.
Now, of course, we could argue that Lampard does not have a lot of experience, but what he has done so far suggests that he could become a great manager in the coming years.
