Thierry Henry has hailed West Ham United summer transfer target Hans Vanaken for his performances for Club Bruges this season.
The 30-year-old admitted that he wanted a move to West Ham United and had ‘mixed feelings’ over it not happening, as Henry compared the Bruges captain to Frank Lampard for his late runs into the box.
The legendary striker shared how Vanaken can ‘dominate’ games from the middle of the park and how he is difficult to stop when on form, as he has also proven in the Champions League this season.

Club Bruges are flying in the Champions League this season because the Belgian club are sitting at the top of Group B with nine points from nine.
Their club captain is at the heart of it all, and even though he could have moved to the Premier League in the summer, he is proving why there was so much interest in him.
Premier League and Arsenal legend Henry was full of praise for the Belgium international, who he works alongside on the International stage, as he told CBS Sports (04/10/22 at 7:20 pm).
“He’s the captain, he’s the go-to guy,” said Henry. “He’s the guy that makes them tick. If you allow him to play, then he will kill you slowly.
“He goes deep to make the team play and then he will appear in the box – he always makes these late Frank Lampard-like runs to have an impact in the box.
“If you let him play, at his rhythm, then he can dominate the game.”

WEST HAM’S FORM PICKING UP
It has been an iffy start to the season for David Moyes’ men with problems all over the ship, including a previously winning opening three Premier League games.
West Ham did claw themselves to some points after that, although, it wasn’t pretty to the eye for the fans.
And whilst poor performances and results followed again, just before the international break, things are now starting to pick up upon their return.
It’s back-to-back wins and clean sheets for the Hammers, including beating Anderlecht 1-0 in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.
