Speaking on The Overlap, Frank Lampard has been reminiscing about some of the battles he had with Tottenham during his playing career.

Unfortunately for Spurs, Lampard was usually on the winning side when he faced off against the London outfit. After all, Tottenham weren’t quite at Chelsea level throughout the 2000s.

However, Lampard seemingly does have a lot of respect for the Spurs fanbase claiming that the atmosphere at White Hart Lane was always hostile even though he’d usually leave Tottenham’s stadium with three points.

What’s Lampard said?

Lampard was speaking with Neville about all things football, and he was asked what his favourite away stadium was.

“Tottenham,” Lampard said

“We used to beat them a lot.”

“Chelsea had a thing from before I came to the club where they called it ‘Three Point Lane’ rather than White Hart Lane and they used to go there and win.”

“I remember we went there once, and we lost when Harry was there and I think we lost once in like 20 visits or something, but it was hostile with the fans, but in a good way on the pitch.”

Hostile

Say what you will about Spurs’ record against the big clubs at the old White Hart Lane, but the fans always made their voices heard.

Lampard may have loved winning against Tottenham with Chelsea, but he won’t have appreciated the jeers and the sheer noise that the home crowd made when he played against Tottenham

Fans can be decisive in any football match and Tottenham have one of the most passionate fanbases in the whole of England.
