Derby face Leeds in the play-offs.
Derby County boss Frank Lampard says he is not paying attention to Leeds United’s poor form.
Lampard is quoted by The Independent saying he believes Leeds’ recent struggles do not matter at all, heading into the play-offs.
Leeds picked up just one point from their final four Championship games.
Lampard says he feels Leeds will be a big threat for the play-offs regardless, as the players will raise their game for the big occasion.
He said: “I think the play-offs change everything. It changes the emotions of the crowd, that cup kind of atmosphere it brings can throw recent form out.
“I won’t plan to think that they’re in bad form, I’ll plan to think of the Leeds that beat us well, that were looking at Christmas like they were going to win the league.”
Leeds beat Derby twice this season, winning 4-1 away and 2-0 at home.
Those results could work against Leeds if they head into the game simply assuming they will raise their performance again, and Derby will be even more determined to beat them this time.
The first play-off game takes place at Derby on Saturday.
