Celtic and Derby County are among the sides reportedly interested in Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie.
Shinnie is out of contract at Aberdeen at the end of the season, and the 27-year-old has been linked with Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers.
According to The Bristol Post, Celtic and Rangers are interested in securing the services of the Scotland international in the summer transfer window.
Derby manager Lampard has revealed that he has spoken to Shinnie – who can operate as a left-back or as a central midfielder.
The Chelsea legend, though, has said that the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle star has other options – which means that Celtic can still convince the Scotsman to make the switch to Celtic Park on a free transfer in the summer of 2019.
Lampard told The Derby Telegraph: “We have spoken to Graeme Shinnie. I actually get on very well with Derek McInnes, the manager at Aberdeen, so he is very aware of it.
“Graeme Shinnie has options, and I think we are an option hence why he was here. It is not done yet, so we have to wait and see but he is a player we are interested in, yes.”
Meanwhile, Paul Hartley has given his take on speculation on the future of Shinnie.
The 42-year-old former Aberdeen and Scotland international midfielder has also praised the 27-year-old for his performances for Aberdeen over the years.
Hartley told The Press and Journal about Shinnie: “Derek McInnes will still be hoping he will stay. Graeme would be going to a tough league and will have to prove himself again.
“He’s been a good servant for Aberdeen and he’s got a big decision to make – it will be the one that’s right for him and his family.”
