Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to give their take on their team facing Leeds United in the Championship playoff semi-finals.

The Rams have secured their place in the top six of the Championship this season with a 3-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion at the Pride Park Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The win against the Baggies means that Frank Lampard’s side have ended up sixth in the league table.

This means that Derby will take on Leeds in the Championship playoff semi-finals, with Aston Villa and West Brom facing each other in the other semi-final tie.

Derby and Leeds were involved in the ‘Spygate’ scandal earlier in the season when it came out that the Whites’ head coach Marcelo Bielsa had been sending someone to check out the opposition’s training sessions.

Both the Rams and the Whites play good, attacking football, and the two-legged affair promises to be very entertaining.

Derby fans have given their take on the impending playoff tie against Leeds, and so has Rams manager Frank Lampard.

Lampard said on Sky Sports Football on Sunday afternoon (2:43pm, May 5, 2019): “I think the achievement is great to be in the bracket of Leeds, Villa and West Brom.

“I think we are underdogs, we are massive underdogs going into the playoffs, but let’s enjoy that tag and look at what we can do.”

The Chelsea legend added: “I don’t want to think about anything past. I know the team at Leeds. History is history. These are two massive games for us.”
