Matthijs de Ligt has been linked to Liverpool in recent months.

Speaking to talkSPORT [30/04/2019], Frank de Boer believes that Matthijs de Ligt should seriously consider joining Liverpool this summer.
The 19-year-old has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young centre-backs after helping Ajax to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Liverpool have been linked and last month De Ligt said that a switch to Anfield ‘could happen’ [Omnisport].
The Dutch giants will do well to keep him beyond this season, such is his profile, and De Boer, a coach at Ajax, says that the ‘unbelievable’ youngster should consider Jurgen Klopp’s side or Paris Saint-Germain as his primary preferences.
“For me, a 19-year-old, captain of Ajax, he is the guy who is also next to Van Dijk with the national team, I mean he is so strong. So determined to be a winner. Unbelievable,” he told talkSPORT.
“For me, Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool. Liverpool wants the ball, Paris Saint-Germain. Those are teams I would give him advice to go there. All the other teams, including Tottenham, are great teams to play for.”
With Frenkie de Jong heading to Barca, De Ligt might feel tempted to join his team-mate at Camp Nou.
Then again, he is on record saying that he’s a huge fan of Virgil van Dijk and the prospect of playing alongside him for Liverpool, as he does for the Netherlands, must also represent a huge carrot for the teenage sensation.
According to The Sun, De Ligt will cost around £70 million, but if Ajax win the Champions League then his profile – and indeed price-tag – will no doubt increase.
