Schalke striker Franco Di Santo has said that he had the chance to join West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window.

Schalke striker Franco Di Santo has told Kicker, as reported by Sport Witness, that he had an offer from West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old former Chelsea striker has also revealed that he had a number of offers other than the one made by West Brom.
The Argentina international, though, has made it clear that he never thought of leaving Schalke in the summer.
Di Santo has been on the books of the German club since the summer of 2015 and has a contract until June 2019, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

“The interest from West Brom was made public, but I got loads of other offers – from England and other leagues, all teams similar to Schalke,” Di Santo told Kicker, as reported by Sport Witness.
“Financially, some of them were quite lucrative, but I never for a minute thought of a premature exit from Schalke.”

Di Santo would probably have been a decent signing for West Brom, especially as he has experience of playing in England.
During his time at London club Chelsea, the striker had a loan spell at Blackburn Rovers, and he was also on the books of Wigan Athletic from 2010 until 2013.
The striker scored two goals and created 16 chances in 25 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke during the 2015-16 campaign.
So far this season, Di Santo has created one chance in one league match for Schalke.
