Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with AC Milan’s Franck Kessie.
AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie told Sport Mediaset in Italy last night that he is happy at the San Siro amid new talk of a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Kessie, 22, has been impressing in Italy, and after starring with Atalanta, he penned a two-year loan deal with Milan in the summer of 2017.
The Ivorian has racked up more than 80 appearances for Milan, scoring eight goals as he has emerged as one of the top young box-to-box midfielders in Europe.
Kessie’s loan is set to become permanent this summer, and even before that has been completely finalised, he is already being linked away elsewhere.
Tuttomercatoweb reported on Tuesday that Tottenham have initiated contact with Kessie’s agent about a possible summer move, with Milan looking for around £35million.
Kessie would fit the bill perfectly as a replacement for Mousa Dembele in the Spurs midfield, after he left Tottenham for Guangzhou R&F in the January transfer window.
Now, Kessie has directly responded to the rumours about a move to Spurs, pointing out that he will have a five year deal with Milan to come and wants to stay to return to the Champions League under Gennaro Gattuso, meaning Spurs may have to look elsewhere.
“The rumours about Chelsea and Tottenham? I have 5 years of contract and I’m happy at Milan,” said Kessie. “There’s a great coach who’s doing things well, with all of us, with all the players. to return to the Champions League and I want to keep on growing it,” he added.
