Tottenham Hotspur made a glut of late signings to ensure the summer transfer window was not the disaster some Spurs fans were fearing. But while Serge Aurier, Fernando Llorente and Davinson Sanchez were headline names, Juan Foyth’s arrival was somewhat less exciting…at least at first glance.

At times Foyth was left exposed but he dealt with those situations relatively well and he looks set to grow into another exciting centre-back alongside the already impressing Sanchez.

Confidence on the ball is something that is innate rather than a learned skill and once he settles in to his new surroundings, expect Foyth to be pushing for starts in the Premier League, too.
