The Spurs defender, previously linked with Leeds and Boca Juniors, has begun featuring more prominently for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.

It’s taken a while for him to make a mark in Tottenham Hotspur colours but Juan Foyth can surely now be considered a bona fide member of Mauricio Pochettino’s senior setup.
The Argentine defender was snapped up by Spurs from Estudiantes for a fee reported by Transfermarkt as 13million Euro (around £11.7million) in the summer of 2017.
Last season, Foyth made just eight appearances in all competitions for a total of 720 minutes (Transfermarkt), with none in the Premier League, as he got used to life and football in England.
However, the 20-year-old has begun featuring much more this term, with six league appearances under his belt – plus the winning goal against Crystal Palace in November – as well as one game in the Carabao Cup.
According to an AS Argentina report in October, Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa was keen on landing Foyth on a short-term deal in January, while Doble Amarilla recently claimed Boca Juniors wanted to snap him up on loan.
Judging by Foyth’s latest comments, however, it seems as though the youngster is really happy at Spurs and just wants to carry on featuring for the team this term with a view to securing a first-team spot for good as opposed to seeking a temporary move away.

“The last few months have been incredible for me,” he told the Tottenham matchday programme ahead of the FA Cup third-round trip to Tranmere, as quoted by Football.London.
“I’ve really enjoyed it recently, but I can’t stop. I have to keep working and keep improving every day. I think I have improved a lot in the time I have been here. It was a good decision I feel, to come here. I’ve got a great bond with my team-mates and I’m enjoying every moment here.”
