The tournament in Brazil could provide the platform for four young footballers to make their mark.

With the 2014 World Cup in Brazil less than a month away, everyone will be anticipating who will shine on the biggest stage in football.

Here are four young players who have the potential to whet your appetite this summer.

1) Joel Campbell, Costa Rica

The Costa Rican spent this season on loan at Greek giants Olympiakos from Arsenal. The pacey forward has been a sensation in Greece and will be remembered for his goal against Manchester United in the last-16 of the Champions League. A typical Arsene Wenger signing who oozes pace and flair has the potential to upset England fans in the group stage in Brazil this summer.

2) Son Heung-Min, South Korea

Currently playing his football in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, the South Korean has been touted as a wonderkid in light of his performances for club and country. His creativity and calmness on the pitch makes him an eye-catching star. At the tender age of 21, there would be no surprises to see Son make the move to a bigger club if he can perform well in Brazil.

3) Tom Rogic, Australia

A player who found his way into football through the Nike Academy, Rogic has recently been snapped up by Scottish champions Celtic. It’s the Australian’s size and poise on the ball that is reminiscent of a certain Patrick Vieira. The 21-year-old’s attacking prowess amalgamated with his defensive capabilities makes him an exciting prospect for Australia.

4) Ross Barkley, England

Ross Barkley is beginning to turn his potential into performances. The Everton midfielder’s raw pace and power stood out this season in the Premier League, making England manager Roy Hodgson take note. Chipping in with seven goals this campaign for Everton, the 20-year-old has emerged as a successor to Wayne Rooney. A fantastic talent, Barkley fully deserves to makes his bow at the World Cup in June.
