Manchester United supporters have seen the good, the very bad and the disturbingly ugly of their inconsistent side this season.
Devasting defeats at home to their nearest rivals, last gasp winners, handsome score lines, players struggling; all this and we haven’t even reached December yet.
Here are four of the biggest talking points from the Red Devils’ campaign so far:
Solskjaer’s job on the ropes
Perhaps best to start with the freshest piece of reality hanging over Old Trafford.
A 2-0 loss at the Theatre of Dreams to Manchester City made a pretty grim Saturday even worse for the fans wearing red.
But they couldn’t have been feeling much worse than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was once again the target of an angry mob of United followers at the full-time whistle.

It probably wasn’t even the size of the deficit that infuriated them most; it was the manner in which City totally controlled the match.
The players on the pitch need to take responsibility, yet the blame will inevitably be sent in Solskjaer’s direction.
It seemed the 5-0 embarrassment by Liverpool would be the final nail in the Norwegian’s coffin.
Perhaps this latest setback really will bring managerial death to his door.
Ronaldo’s return
Another man who simply cannot stay away from the spotlight, Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to United has provided success and skepticism.
There is no denying the Portugal captain has done his bit in front of goal.
Nine times already the 36-year-old has struck the back of the opponent’s net.
Incredibly, five of those have arrived in the Champions League, almost single handily winning seven points in the process.

Late strikes against Villarreal and Atalanta saved Solskjaer’s side from a troubling end result.
Yet, some have questioned whether United are actually better off without Ronaldo.
His work rate really leaves a lot to be desired, whilst top players are being left out due to CR7’s presence.
David De Gea
Whilst Ronaldo continues to save United in Europe, David De Gea has literally been saving the team from total capitulation.
On numerous occasions, the goalkeeper has easily been United’s man of the match.

The Manchester derby would’ve finished even greater in City’s favour had it not been for the Spaniard.
There is every chance De Gea will finish as the club’s player of the year when the term concludes.
Sancho’s struggles
For every De Gea, there is a Jadon Sancho.
One man at the top of his game, another at the very bottom of it.
Since his summer move from Borussia Dortmund, everything has tumbled down around the England international.

He literally can’t buy a goal or an assist.
Starts have also been extremely hard to come by.
A solid run in the team would be a good place for Sancho to reignite his engine and rediscover his spark.
