Celtic winger wanted more goals.
Celtic winger James Forrest has told the club’s official website that he was disappointed not to get any chances in the second half.
Forrest played the best 45 minutes of his life against St Johnstone in the first half, scoring four times.
The winger said he wanted more goals, but was shut out in the second half.
Forrest said: “I went in at half-time having scored four and I’ve never scored four before.
“I wanted to keep contributing to the team and score more but I never managed to get another chance in the second.”
Overall Forrest said he was in a very positive mood, adding, “I’m delighted with the goals and the performance today.”
It is not a surprise that St Johnstone took extra care in the second half to limit Forrest’s opportunities after he ripped their defence apart in the first half.
His performance is one he will savour for years, and one he may struggle to ever repeat.
The goals pad Forrest’s stats for the season out nicely.
Having failed to net in the league all season, he now has a very respectable four goals in seven games.
