Rangers-linked Oliver McBurnie has been on fire for Barnsley.

Rangers were in fine form again on Tuesday night, as they beat St Johnstone 4-1 at McDiarmid Park to continue impressing under manager Graeme Murty.
The Gers can’t stop scoring right now, and have cut the lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to six points having made a blistering start to 2018.
Meanwhile, down in South Yorkshire, one of Murty’s January targets is thriving too, as striker Oliver McBurnie has made a sensational start to life on loan at Barnsley.

McBurnie, 21, joined Barnsley on loan from Swansea City on deadline day last month, and scored once again on Tuesday night, opening the scoring in a 1-1 draw for the Tykes with a fine header.
That’s now four goals in his last four games for McBurnie, having opened his account with a superb solo goal against Sheffield Wednesday before also scoring twice at Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.
The Scotland youth international is giving Barnsley hope of surviving the drop, and whilst Swansea are no doubt delighted with his progress given his billing as a promising youngster at the Liberty Stadium, Rangers should also be watching very, very closely.

McBurnie grew up supporting Rangers and is constantly bombarded by messages from fans urging him to move to Ibrox, with The Scottish Sun claiming that the Gers missed out on his signature on deadline last month.
McBurnie was seemingly eyed up in case Rangers lost Alfredo Morelos to Beijing Renhe, but that didn’t materalise. The Colombian is still expected to attract interest this summer though, and Rangers must McBurnie their top target to potentially replace him after his blistering start with Barnsley.
