Manchester City defender John Stones was solid in his debut as his side beat Sunderland this weekend.

The defender completed a big money move the Etihad earlier this week as they made him the second most expensive defender ever to secure him from Everton.

Pep Guardiola immediately showed his faith in the England international too, throwing him straight into his first team for the clash with Sunderland on Saturday.

Winning the ball back was a particular strength for him, as he won it back three times in the defensive third and posted five ball recoveries.
