Newcastle United’s long unbeaten run came to an end at the weekend in controversial fashion after the Magpies conceded a late goal against Chelsea and were denied what looked to be a stonewall penalty.
However, there were a lot of positives to take from that performance, and the Tyneside outfit have a great chance to get back to winning ways here against Everton.
The Toffees have been struggling all season long, and with Newcastle in a rich vein of form, they should be able to pile on the misery here.
With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Newcastle’s starting XI for this one.
We think that there will be a few changes from the Chelsea game.
Injuries and illness forced Eddie Howe to switch to a back five against Chelsea, but we’re predicting a return to the 4-3-3 here.
That means that Emil Krafth returns at right-back, while there are also changes in midfield and in the attack.
Joe Willock comes back into the side, but sadly Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton don’t return here, so Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff get the nod in the middle of the park.
Allan Saint-Maximin came off the bench against Chelsea, so we expect him to start here, while Ryan Fraser reclaims his place in the XI.
Chris Wood once again spearheads the attack.
