Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with defenders from Newcastle United, Middlesbrough, Cardiff City and Derby County this summer.
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal has told the BBC he is trying to bring two new centre-backs to Hillsborough this summer. Players from Newcastle United, Middlesbrough, Cardiff City and Derby County have been linked so far – but which is the more likely Owls recruit?
You decide…
Grant Hanley

Club: Newcastle United
Linked by: Sheffield Star and others
Why it could happen: He barely played for Newcastle last season and looks to be fifth choice now Florian Lejeune has signed.
Why it would be difficult: Newcastle are said to want a similar amount to what they paid for him [£5.6 million]; wages could be high.
Daniel Ayala

Club: Middlesbrough
Linked by: Sheffield Star
Why it could happen: Again, he wasn’t a regular last season, while new Boro boss Garry Monk will perhaps want his own men on board.
Why it would be difficult: One centre-back, Calum Chambers, has returned to his parent club, and Ben Gibson could also leave; Middlesbrough will surely see Wednesday as promotion rivals, and will not want to do them any favours, especially if they fail to lure Keiren Westwood from Hillsborough.
Sean Morrison

Club: Cardiff City
Linked by: Sky Sports and others
Why it could happen: He has less than 12 months left on his contract, and is perhaps not as indispensable as he was before Bruno Ecuele Manga unexpectedly signed a new deal.
Why it would be difficult: Cardiff are said to want close to £6 million for their captain and, again, will not want to strengthen a club which is – in their eyes at least – a rival for promotion.
Richard Keogh

Club: Derby County
Linked by: The Sun
Why it could happen: Derby have already recruited Curtis Davies and Andre Wisdom this summer, and admitted – albeit before selling Will Hughes and Tom Ince – that funds could be raised through departures.
Why it would be difficult: Again, these two should both be fighting at the top end of the Championship, and while Derby could well sell their captain, they would no doubt favour a move to someone other than Wednesday.
