Callum McGregor is an important player for Celtic.

Former Celtic midfielder Fotheringham played with McGregor at Notts County in 2013-14, and the 34-year-old has suggested that Rodgers would take the 24-year-old central midfielder with him to his next club.
Rodgers has been in charge of Celtic since the summer of 2016, and the Scotland international has established himself as a key figure for the Hoops under the former Liverpool and Swansea City boss.

Fotheringham told The Scottish Sun: “If and when Brendan ever leaves Celtic then it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he tried to take Callum to his next club.
“Why wouldn’t you want to sign him? He scores goals from midfield and provides his fair share of assists.”

Quality footballer
McGregor has been on the books of Celtic his entire professional football career so far and is playing well at the moment.
The 24-year-old central midfielder has scored six goals and provided four assists in 31 Scottish Premiership appearances for the Hoops so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The Scotland intentional will be a key player for Celtic in their Scottish Cup semi-final tie against Old Firm rivals Rangers at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon.
