Adam Forshaw offers his first impression of Leeds United fans

Leeds United’s Adam Forshaw has hailed the club’s fans.

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he has been impressed with the club’s fans in his first few weeks at Elland Road.

Leeds brought in Laurens De Bock and Tyler Roberts in January, but their biggest addition was midfielder Forshaw, arriving from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £4.5million (Daily Mail).

The 26-year-old penned a four-and-a-half-year deal in mid-January, leaving Middlesbrough after three years at the Riverside Stadium, having moved on from Wigan Athletic.

Forshaw has made three appearances for Leeds so far, and Victor Orta – who worked with the midfielder at Middlesbrough – will be hoping that he lives up to his price tag.

Already, Forshaw has endured upheaval at Elland Road, as the manager he immediately worked under – Thomas Christiansen – has been sacked and replaced with ex-Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom.

Forshaw must now prove to Heckingbottom that he deserves a regular starting role with the Whites, and he has been discussing his first impressions of the Elland Road crowd.

Forshaw has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he thinks Leeds fans are ‘unbelievable’ and ‘second to none’, suggesting that their non-stop cheering is a major motivator for the Leeds players – though after recent defeats, some fans may not quite buy that suggestion.

“The fans are unbelievable,” said Forshaw. “Obviously it’s a massive club and the support is second to none. “You see them singing, non-stop cheering for the lads, and it spurs us on, definitely,” he added.
