West Ham star Pablo Fornals believes that attacking teammate Jarrod Bowen should be in contention for an England call-up.
Speaking to the Hammers official website, the Spanish international claimed that the West Ham winger deserves a shot to represent the Three Lions. Bowen has been in great form this season, with the £22m attacker bagging his first goal of the season this weekend.
The former Hull City star has been crucial to West Ham’s resurgence under David Moyes. Bowen has made the right-wing spot his own. And the attacker is set for another big season for the east London side.
Yet an England call-up still alludes Bowen. Indeed, given the amount of quality Gareth Southgate has to choose from, it is perhaps not too surprising that the West Ham star is yet to be given a chance by the Three Lions boss.
However, Fornals believes that Bowen is more than capable of succeeding on an international level. Declan Rice has flourished for England since being entrusted by Southgate as one of the key players for the Euro 2020 finalists.
Fornals said: “He’s trying to score every game and he’s playing a massive part of this West Ham team right now. Why not? Soon, England could make a call for him.
Fornals believes Bowen deserves England shot ‘more than players who are going’

“He deserves it the same or more than players who are going, so I think if he keeps playing at this level, 100% he’s going to have his chance.”
A call up for Bowen would be a great achievement for the attacker and another testament to the form West Ham have been in over the past 12 months. Whilst the winger missed out this time, November provides another chance for the forward to impress Southgate.
