Hernandez has been linked with a move away from West Ham after a frustrating first campaign.

Former West Ham United midfielder Stan Lazaridis has told Goal.com that he wants to see Hammers striker Javier Hernandez remain at the London Stadium this summer.
Hernandez, 30, endured a difficult 2017-18 campaign, scoring only eight goals for the east Londoners after joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen last summer. He started only 19 of his 33 outings.

Quoted by the Daily Mail, Hernandez refused to commit his future with the Hammers back in May: “Of course I am a West Ham player still, but we’ll see.”

Lazaridis, who played for West Ham for four years between 1995 and 1999, reckons his old side should do everything they can to keep the former Manchester United striker at the London Stadium this summer.
“I would persevere with Hernandez because he’s something different that the Hammers don’t have and until you get someone different it would be the only time I’d let him go,” Lazaridis said.

Hernandez is currently with Mexico in Russia at this summer’s World Cup, as he helped his country provide one of the shocks of the tournament by providing the assist in Mexico’s 1-0 win over Germany – Hirving Lozano scoring the goal.
Nicknamed the ‘Little Pea’, Hernandez has two years remaining on a contract that Sky Sports claim is worth £140,000 a week.
He will surely be impressed with the Hammers recent business, though, bringing in manager Manuel Pellegrini and three new players in Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop.
