Former West Ham United hero Bobby Zamora has called on his old club to do the right thing over fans’ favourite James Collins.

Zamora will always be fondly remembered by West Ham fans.
The one-time England international nearly gave up on football altogether when he was released by his boyhood club as a youngster.
But he rebuilt his confidence and forged a fantastic career for himself being welcomed back to the club with open arms when he was signed by Alan Pardew back in 2004.
He will forever be remembered for scoring the goal that got the Hammers promoted at the second attempt when they beat Preston in the 2006 Play-Off final.

Now Zamora has proved he still cares about his old team – and particularly one of his old teammates – by calling on the East Londoners to give veteran defender James Collins a new deal.
The ‘Ginger Pele’ as he is affectionately known by fans, has been a key player for West Ham again this season despite problems with injuries and has been linked with a £2.5 million move to Brighton.
That has not gone down well with fans who want to see Collins see out his playing days with the club.

And Zamora has urged the Hammers to do the right thing by backing a social media campaign calling for the club to extend Collins’ contract.
“All day long, I’d give him two years,” Zamora said on Twitter.
“What a player and amazing around the training ground. #nobrainer.”
