The Croatian has struggled to get West Ham firing so far this season.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic before the game
Former West Ham United left-back Nigel Winterburn has been commenting on the state of affairs at the club during an appearance on Sky Sports News HQ (22/09/16).
West Ham stopped the rot slightly yesterday with a late winning goal from Dimitri Payet scraping them a win against Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup.
Prior to that the Hammers had lost four games on the bounce and it appeared that the pressure was mounting on West Ham head coach Slaven Bilic.

Winterburn found the notion of the Croatian’s job being under threat fairly ridiculous and believes West Ham were always going to struggle to replicate their form from last season after their move to the Olympic Stadium:
“I’m already hearing reports that so many managers are already under pressure this season already.
“It’s absolutely ludicrous.
“West Ham have gone to a new stadium. We said it would be very difficult for them to start with.
“The one worrying thing is you would have thought they would have picked up a fair number of points against the teams that they have played. They’ve got some big games to come there.”
Winterburn, who spent three years at West Ham at the end of his career, is clearly not having any of it regarding Bilic’s job being under threat.

The Croatian had a brilliant season last term but they were always going to struggle to follow that up and the stadium move has certainly had a bigger impact than anyone thought it would have.
But West Ham should bide their time with the manager and hope he can get back to winning ways in the league this weekend when they take on Southampton.
