Harvey Barnes returned to Leicester City from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window.

Darren Moore said on the EFL Matters show on Sky Sports Football on Thursday evening (7pm, April 18, 2019) that he wanted Leicester City midfielder Harvey Barnes to stay at West Bromwich Albion.
Barnes joined Championship club West Brom on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Leicester in the summer of 2018.
The Foxes recalled the 21-year-old midfielder from his loan spell at the Baggies, and the youngster is now part of manager Brendan Rodgers’s first team.
Moore was in charge of West Brom in the summer of 2018 when the Baggies signed Barnes, and he was dismissed from his managerial role at The Hawthorns in March 2019.
Moore said on the EFL Matters show on Sky Sports Football on Thursday evening (7pm, April 18, 2019) regarding Barnes: “We wanted him to stay and he knew that.
“The big thing for us was Harvey Barnes came to West Brom and Harvey Barnes has improved, he is a better player for it. He deserves to be where he is in the Leicester team.”

Barnes made 26 appearances in the Championship for West Brom before returning to Leicester on loan in January, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
The 21-year-old midfielder has made 11 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League forth Foxes, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Playoff chances
Meanwhile, Moore has outlined why West Brom will be a force to be reckoned with in the Championship playoffs.
Moore said on the EFL Matters show on Sky Sports Football on Thursday evening (7pm, April 18, 2019): “If West Brom are in there, I said to the players, if we were to get there, nobody would fancy playing us over the two legs because of the players that we have got and the players that they are.
“Not only that, the cohesion and the camaraderie that they have, the togetherness that they have, and that would be a huge break for me.”
