Aston Villa are in the midst of a mini resurgence since the appointment of Steve Bruce.
Ex-Aston Villa goalkeeper Nigel Spink offered high praise for the job being done by Steve Bruce at his former club after his appointment as manager last month, suggesting that a win over Blackburn Rovers tomorrow would cap off an ‘unbelievable’ start, as quoted by the Express & Star.
The Villans now sit in 15th position in the Championship table, after picking up eight points from the four games that Bruce has been in charge, and head into Saturday’s game against Blackburn just six points outside of the play-off spots.

Bruce’s men play host to Rovers on Saturday knowing that a win could take them inside the top half of the table, and Spink explained how the former Hull City boss deserves a lot of credit for what he has achieved during his time at Villa Park, as quoted by the Express & Star:
“If they win tomorrow you have to say it has been an unbelievable start. I don’t think Steve could really have asked for more. They are moving forward. It’s small steps but if they can keep the momentum going to January and move into striking distance of the play-offs, then they can strike.”

The Midlands outfit endured a torrid start to life in the Championship under the stewardship of Roberto Di Matteo, where the Italian’s tactical ineptness was ruthlessly exposed.
Bruce has brought a sense of know-how and experience of competing in England’s second tier, and Villa are now beginning to look like a side genuinely capable of achieving promotion back to the Premier League.
