Tottenham Hotspur face Newport County away tomorrow evening in the fourth round of the FA Cup, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side eager to avoid an upset against the League Two side.
Amongst the Newport players aiming to make an impact is Emmanuel Osadebe, with the midfielder having played for Tottenham’s academy in the 2014/15 season.
Osadebe, who is capable of playing as a central midfielder or on either flank, recently joined Newport on loan from Cambridge United and made his debut for his temporary club in the draw against Morecambe recently.
Newport are pushing for a place in the League Two playoffs, but for now their focus is on getting the better of Tottenham and Osadebe will be especially eager to impress.
The 21-year-old was unable to make a first-team appearance for Tottenham and left for Gillingham, but he developed well during his time at the club and is now attempting to demonstrate that he can be a consistent performer in League Two.
Tottenham are looking to secure a top four finish in the Premier League and also have hopes of going far in both the Champions League and the FA Cup.
However, one of their former academy players will be determined to prevent the club from fulfilling the last objective.
