It will always be a case of ‘what if’ for Kevin Prince Boateng. However, after been handed a lifeline by Las Palmas, he is intent on taking it.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng admits that the “beauty” of Las Palmas’ attacking approach has helped him find his form again in La Liga, according to Football Espana.
The talented Ghanaian showed glimpses of his vast potential during an impressive spell with the Serie A giants before enduring a turbulent couple of seasons with Schalke in the Bundesliga, resulting in him being suspended by the club in May 2015 for disciplinary reasons.
However, Boateng, now 29 years of age, is thriving away from the glaring spotlight at plucky Las Palmas, scoring in his first two appearances for Quique Setien’s free-flowing high-flyers.
“I’ve played in the top four leagues in the world: the Premier League, Bundesliga, Calcio and [La Liga]. Each league has its good and bad traits,” the controversy-courting midfielder told Fox Sports, as reported by Football Espana.
“The beauty of Spanish football is that all its teams, even the smallest, want to play with the ball.
“If people join the Canaries then I certainly understand it because I chose to play for Las Palmas: sun and heat. They’re key to getting up in the morning with good humour.”
Despite a flourish of form in recent weeks, Boateng will forever remain another talented player who failed to fulfil his potential.
