Tottenham Hotspur continue to prioritise the blooding of youngsters rather than spending heavily in the transfer market.

When speaking to BBC 1’s programme Football Focus, broadcast at 12:38 pm on Saturday February 18th, Fulham star Scott Parker raved about his side’s FA Cup opponents Spurs, highlighting how they continually bring through talented youngsters as something that proves they are going about their business in the correct manner.
Parker, 36, spent two years at White Hart Lane, and suggested that the current Tottenham side are up there with the best over recent times.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have impressed once again this season, and currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, albeit a distant 10 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.
And Parker sat down for an interview with BBC’s Football Focus, offering high praise for the way in which his former side continue to bring through young English players:

“Yes I think it’s up there for sure. They’ve got a fantastic manager in Mauricio Pochettino. If there is ever a football club you want to look at, bringing through young English players, and not spending crazy obscene money on players – Tottenham do it the right way.”
Tottenham fans would arguably like to see a better balance, however, as far as player recruitment is concerned.
It is all very well and good that they keep bringing young English talent through, but in order for them to really kick on to the next level, they need to supplement their youth prospects with the signings of some truly world class stars.
And perhaps then they will start to compete for major honours, both domestically and on the continent.
